The STOP Campaign, is designed to raise awareness about and tackle sexual assault and harassment on campus through events, information and initiative’s such as their latest project, a zine directed to revealing truths and breakdown stigmas.
The ANU Straight Department (ANUSD) gave notice of a Special General Meeting yesterday, where they intend to pass a motion requiring a queer student to renounce her bisexuality. This was prompted by recent findings that the student’s first semester Thursday night hook-up ratio was 60:40, in favour of men.
“The Consent Matters Module has been branded as a tokenistic, ‘band-aid’-style approach to what is actually a much broader and more serious issue: rape culture. The argument is that this issue cannot miraculously be solved through watching stories acted out by cartoon figures and checking boxes on a screen.”
